Who’s Who?

Ever wonder who the sick minds are that spend their time coming up with all of this stuff and then work really hard to record, produce, and disseminate it? Well, you’ve come to the right place. Get to know the creators of The MoShow, just not in the biblical sense.

Mocean Melvin

Creator

Mocean had it tough growing up on the mean streets of Santa Barbara, California. Mo had to beg, borrow and steal just to survive: Beg his Dad for $20 bucks, borrow his brother's skateboard and steal candy at the local Walgreens despite having $20. When Mo's 4th grade teacher told him he had a face for radio, he knew he was destined for mediocrity. MO

After drinking craft beer and smoking copious amounts of weed with his friends in Eugene, Oregon, what Mo affectionately calls "college", he got an on-air gig at a local radio station. At KNRQ he cut his teeth recording and producing local commercials. When he moved to LA he took some classes and blew the right people and the rest is history.

Dominic Zunino

Creator/Engineer

Dominic is an audio engineer. Dom and Mo met each other while they were both working on a commercial campaign and discovered they were both perverted assholes. The bromance that ensued birthed the special-needs baby that is the Mo Show Podcast.

The bio that Dominic wrote has been deemed way too disgusting and offensive, even for the Mo Show Podcast website. If, however, you are morbidly curious and/or a sick bastard looking for gratuitous vulgarity, you may read it here.

Minnie Goode

Writer/Voice Actor

Minnie Goode was born making people laugh and knew she wanted to be an actor and comedian from the age of 5. She studied at North Carolina School of the Arts, Mountview Academy for Performing Arts in London, The Groundlings and The Upright Citizen's Brigade here in Los Angeles. After graduating from the University of Oregon where she met Mo and Ryan, she moved to L.A. to pursue her dreams of starring on a cutting edge, groundbreaking and long running television series. She grew up idolizing Saturday Night Live, Kids in the Hall, Mr. Show and The State.

Minnie

One of her biggest dreams came true when she was cast as one of her original characters, Destiny Diamondo the Tranny Hooker on Reno 911! and got to work with some of her comedic heroes Tom Lennon, Ben Garant, Kerri Kenney and Joe LoTruglio. In addition to being a head-writer and voice for the MoShow, she just wrapped filming on her original series "Unsingle" which she wrote for her all-girls sketch group LadyPantz, and you can see her in Joe Dirt II playing opposite David Spade. She is also married to fellow head-writer Dan Mott, but hasn't changed her name, because...Minnie Mott.

Aaron Drake

Composer

First off, Aaron posts his bios in the first person.

I was classically trained as a pianist from age 5 and competitively performed between age 8 and 15 throughout the West Coast (US and Canada). I did aight, but...my first professional commission came because of composing...not from pushing buttons like a monkey on a weird black and white keyboard. I studied composition at San Francisco State University under Josh Levine who introduced me to Complexist music and his mentor, Brian Ferneyhough. From there, I moved to das Deutschland and completed my undergraduate degree at the Hochschule für Musik in Trossingen, while continuing studies with two of Ferneyhough's other proteges: Frank Cox and Mark Randall-Osborne at Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart.

I realized however, that I was Merican and that the Euro Avant Garde wasn't for me. So, I came back to the states and studied at CalArts with James Tenney (microtonal music) and Morton Subotnick (computer and electronic music) - the cool know-it-all music nerds. Although they were nerds after my own 'heart,' It became increasingly important to me to conceptualize my music beyond the intricacies of advanced music theory and that's when I wrote my first film score.

The MoShow-140

The score for "The Shadow Effect" won a Bronze Medal at Park City Music Festival and since then I've scored multiple feature narratives and documentaries, music for Emmy Award winning TV shows like How I Met Your Mother and Henry Ford's Innovation Nation (if you've got kids you've seen this!), numbers of ads (Nintendo, Nike, Garnier, EA Sports, Gillette etc.), and artsy stuff which I've performed or has shown around the world at places like ICA, ZKM, LACMA, MOCA, REDCAT, OCMA and the Hammer Museum.

Fun Fact - if you get me in a room and we start talking music, I STILL sound like a douchey know-it-all - because, let's face it, I am and probably know a shit load more than you about music.

Ryan Carlberg

Voice Actor

Ryan Carlberg was born on 20 April 1889 in the small Austrian town of Braunau. At primary school, Ryan showed great intellectual potential and was extremely popular with fellow pupils as well as being admired for his leadership qualities. However, competition at secondary school was tougher and Ryan stopped trying as a result.

He also lost his popularity among his fellow students and instead preferred to re-enact battles from the Boer war with younger children. At the age of 15, he failed his exams and was told to repeat the year but he left without a formal education instead.RyanC

At the age of 18, he moved to Vienna with money inherited after his father's death in 1903, in order to pursue a career in art, as this was his best subject at school. However his applications for both the Vienna Academy of Art and the School of Architecture were rejected.

It was supposedly at this time that Ryan first became interested in politics and how the masses could be made to respond to certain themes. He was particularly impressed with the nationalist Christian-Socialist party.

During the First World War he volunteered to fight for the German Army and gained the rank of corporal, earning accolades as a dispatch-runner. He won several awards for bravery, including the Iron Cross First Class.

In October 1918, he was blinded in a mustard gas attack. Germany surrendered while Ryan was in hospital and he went into a state of great depression, spending lots of time in tears. After the war ended, Ryan's future seemed uncertain. It wan't until he found the MoShow that his true calling was revealed.

Anndi McAfee

Voice Actor

Anndi has been a voice over artist for over 25 years. She has worked on numerous animation projects from providing regular voices for Nickelodeon and Disney cartoon series, to voicing “Cera” in The Land Before Time series (one of the longest running “direct-to-DVD” franchises ever) to top selling video game franchises. She has also provided her singing voice to songs released on Disney Records, Universal Records, and even performed a song for “Tom and Jerry-The Movie” written by Henry Mancini and Leslie Bricusse. She's also been the announcer for "The Soup" on E! for 8 years.

She has done a ton of other stuff (even on-camera!) which you can peruse on IMDB or her personal page: http://www.anndi.com/ Voice over is her passion and it's a good thing-- she has no other marketable skills (but she still loves staring at her M.A. degree on the wall. It really brightens up her office). She's also one of the handful of Mo's female friends who has not slept with him.
